Story Behind the Wine:
When wine is aged in fine oak barrels, a portion of it evaporates - winemakers call this the ‘Angel’s Share’. It was with this sentiment that the Koonara angel was born. ‘Angels Peak’ is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the lack of ‘peaks’ in the very flat Coonawarra. The grapes in this wine are deliberately cultivated to be about the size of a pea, focusing on the density of flavour and deep, rich colour. This makes each grape a concentrated powerhouse, contributing to the wine's unique character.
