The 2023 Shiraz fruit has been selected from a vineyard I know well and that has had a very similar terroir to the vineyard that produced my first Shiraz in 2005 and then other vintages.
I am pleased with the result. The wine has all the hall marks of the style of Shiraz I love to make. Colour is deep brick red and the nose has forest fruits and a hint of spice. Palate is what I wanted with beautiful cherry, strawberry and the black pepper which I love in a Shiraz.
It is an elegant wine and the 13% alcohol keeps it soft and fruit driven.
