VINEYARD
The Vines were planted by the creek in the 1960s as a trial block for the 1654 Shiraz Clone, on sandy brown loam with grey clay. This single-block wine went out of production in 2005, but we brought it back in 2018. In some ways there’s a precariousness to the creek-side site, but it’s and evocative spot with history and the capacity to grow a sensational wine with character. We’ve re-trellised the vines to better control the canopy and achieve finer balance.
